Thanx guys,
I just ordered the test kit and a small aquaclear filter for my small aquarium. I will make daily water changes until my sponge filter cycles.
I also have had ammonia problems. I have lost about 50 of my original 220 fish purchased on the 20th of July. Problem started with my 20 gallon aquarium followed by a major fish kill in my 40 gallon tank. That was followed by my 100 gallon tank. In the 3 & half months the fish have tripled in size. I kinda forgot about the major increase of fish waste and the ammonia that comes with it. Now my 330 gallon tank and 100 gallon tank drain to my grow beds. However majority of the returned water went to the 330 gal. tank. Aquarium water did not go to any grow beds. I now drain 50% of aquarium water, which I dump in the 330 gal. tank, once a week.. I have installed a "Y" fitting on my water return hose. This provides for mor equal distribution of return water from my sump.
My latest solution was tonight see: http://www.partsandmedia.com/aq50amrefime.htmlhttp://www.partsandmedia.com/aq50amrefime.html
I ordered the following with 3 ammonia filters. I plan to run the same filter in both the 20 & 40 gallon aquairiums. Moving it from tank to tank every other day.
