My system completed its cycling a little over 2 months ago. I am raising a nice amount of lettuce and not much else. I have 25 tilapia in a 180 gal tank. The fish are 2.5 to 3 inches in length. They eat like pigs.
The grow bed is 12 sq feet under 600w Metal Halide lighting run for 18 hours/day.

Today we had one of our free farm tours which we offer on the first Saturday of every month. It was a typical tour with people coming because they are interested in Aquaponics and what we do. I'm from Indiana and many years ago I went to collage in Berrien Springs and then Lansing so I know about the wind-chill factor and lake effect. You poor soul! I took my first step today in starting an aquaponics garden - bought a green house kit from Harbor Freight. It will take me a week or so to do prep for green house installation but I'm excited.
