my system

finally got my system running!  I had a little problem with leaks in the beginning I was trying to use materials I already had around the house.  I have a tote tank system one 275 fish tank and two 250 for three grow beds  and sump. I am using the chop 2 method one pump continuous flow.  this is my first attempt at any sort of garden hope things go well. Looking at my system

Finally going to start getting the tanks together ... finances are not perfect but getting better so hopefully in a month I can have it up and cycling. (being realistic here)



My general numbers used for questions / concerns below:

  • 300g stock tank filled with about 240 gallons of water (4" gap at top)
  • 275 IBC split in 2 as GB's filled with 16" hydroton (110 gallons of hydroton in each half and 96-103gallons of water displaced when both are…

May have solved my whole Solar vs. AC issue ...

Fortunately I have access to engineers where I work and think, with their help, I may have solved the self sustaining solar issue. Still working out the details but one thing is for sure ... it won't be cheap.



However, I can see a benefit to having such a system not only for running my aquaponic system, but also for sustaining some comfort in the event of a power failure. I will keep everyone posted as I get closer to making my final decision about this solar…
