George, sorry I didn't see this sooner. Hopefully it can help someone else if you've already purchased.
The pump I use is 230V 50HZ .02A = 4.6W (according to this calculator http://www.supercircuits.com/resources/tools/Volts-Watts-Amps-Conve...).
TheWaterGardener has GREAT, very responsive to my questions before I bought, customer service, 2-year warranty on this product, and same-day shipping.

I'm including these other links for the researchers, like myself, who like to see the numbers and research ALL the details before making a decision:
Here's an ebay page which lists the specs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hakko-HK25-25L-Linear-Air-Pump-Pond-Aeratio...
Here's a link with multiple reviews of this product: http://www.pondproductreviews.com/Hakko-Air-Pumps/HAKKO-Linear-Air-...
Anyone use a solar powered aerator?
Yes, but low expense is not the object and I have 120V stuff already, inverter, etc. What I'm looking for is 12V very low wattage to run straight from solar/battery.
It seems less expensive to use an inverter to drive a 120V air compressor.
The one's I linked a few days ago look like good air pumps but $149 only delivers 17 lpm whereas my 70 lpm pump costs $65.00. Add a 400W inverter for $40 and $105 gets you 4 times the air.
The large 12V air compressor at $349 delivers only 42 lpm.
Well Flaco, can you recommend a 12V pump which will last long term? Anyone? Mine has a redundant function so it shouldn't be a crisis if it does fail but I've been on a search for a while now for something better.
Marine Metal Products Power Bubbles 12V DC Aeration Pump - I have one of these mounted in a kayak - can't say whether it would hold up long term in an aquaponics system but it might - works well keeping bait alive. 1/4 amp X 12V = 3 watts, which is really something to think about.
amazon $35.24 I purchased 5 let you know

I've found dc water and air pumps are pricy but very good quality as most are for marine applications and built to last. Try you local boat shop.
I just did a quick search for a 12V commercial air pump
It's a bit pricey but it delivers the goods
