Had the great pleasure of meeting a fellow CA Aquapon, Andy from Santa Barbara. Got me to thinking we shouldn't be left out. There is a Florida and Colorado group so there has to be one from CA. Besides we can share links, ideas and suppliers

Hello everybody, I'm new and live in Bay Area, Saratoga. I've been in freshwater fish hobby for about 12 years. I have had 20 tanks at one time, from 10G to 150G. Oh boy, you don't want to know how busy and what a waste when it's time to change water for those tanks. Then I found this site, WOW, amazing way to save the water, plus you get edible fish and veges down the road, what a WINWIN hobby. I've set up a trial system this Jan. with a 50G tank, having some freshwater fish, and two grow beds(1.5x2x10 and 2x3x8). The system runs great. Just starting out two new 275G ibc systems in my garage. Now the water is cycled and ready, looking for buying some good tilapia (or other edible) fingerlings around the south bay area. Thanks.
Offering an Iron Bathtub -- Hello dear CA Aquaneers! Anyone in the SF Bay Area interested in old iron bathtub for their system? It's been outside at the folk's place for many, many years - definitely not new, with stains on the inside from leaves and water piling up over time... but could be just the ticket for the right set up... let me know!
Jon - Looking into whether or not I can get the time off of work and get out of a work trip I'm supposed to be on. Even if I can't go I might try to sponsor a guy that's been helping us with our project so long as he takes AMAZING notes and photos so I can follow along when I get back. hahaha
To anyone that maybe is new here and doesn't know Jon Parr and Vlad are kind of a big deal in the aquaponic world. Well worth the time and money to accelerate your learning curve. Plus he's the guy you're probably going to want to get your fish from and knows where to get the other supplies you'll be needing.
Boy, sure is quiet in the California group! I better stir things up. Vlad Jovanovic is coming to California, helping me with aquaponics workshops. I posted a thread in the Sac group http://community.theaquaponicsource.com/group/sacramento-aquaponics...
Hi folks, I hope this holiday season is treating you all right. I am teaching a round of aquaponic classes at my place in Santa Cruz this week, and solar/wind, worms/BSFL, and wood gasification next week. Check www.fishnetaquaponics.com for details. Thanks
Hello all, Just starting out in Aquaponics on the California Central Coast. Looking for some good fingerlings and good advice. I have a small system up in a greenhouse with a 300 gallon tank and one grow bed so far (1x2x10). I have been cycling the tank for a little over two weeks with gold fish but want to switch to a fish that I can eat down the road. Don't know how tastey gold fish are..LOL
Any other aquaponic growers in the Chico, CA. area?
