I don't order online very often at all. Actually though the deep fryer element came from a fryer that my wife got on quibids.com. It had a bad rheostat out of the box, but she only paid 4 bucks for it, so shipping back barely seemed worth it since I have a deep fryer already. For the controller I am building, I use sparkfun.com, dealextreme.com and mouser or digikey. I shopped locally for a stainless steel element, but could only find a 3500 watt which was more than I wanted.
You can find awesome gyro stuff at the PRA website. Also youtube has lots.
I got into the sport because of videos from rotorhead.
