OK how much cubic water does a trout need to be happy? I'm thinking 10-12 inches to market/ harvest.

Anthony, the number of fish you can put in a tank is determined by the type of fish.  First you have to decide what type of fish you are going to raise. Then  you can figure how much cubic water each fish needs.  and yes, if your tanks are buile right you could put crayfish under the rafts.  You have to think about water flow and turnover in those beds.

OK I'm in the drawing stage waiting on book. I'm thinking that my tanks should be on the outside of the greenhouse so I can max out the growing space. but how many fish go into 300 gallon tank? and do I count all the water in the whole system? Can crawfish be under the rafts?

Camden tablets found at a beer brewing store will remove chloramine.  About 20 tablets for 300 gallons (they come in 20 tablet packs).  The ratio is on the packaging.  This is what wine and beer makers use to remove chlorine and chloramine.

I also bought a chloramine filter that fits on the end of my hose.  They are good for 20000 to more gallons.  But will take a while to come.  I can give yo the website if you want but I have to search around for it.

First you need to make sure it is Chlorine you are dealing with and not chloramine.

Check with your water utility.

If it is Chlorine, easy, you can simply put water in a bucket or bin and add a bubbler and the chlorine will offgas in a few days.

To do that with chloramine you almost need a month plus UV light to break the chlorine/ammonia bond.

So if you are dealing with chloramine you almost need a chlorine remover/water conditioner additive that is safe for fish for human consumption or a really good very slow carbon filter..

thanks for the advise guys. What would be the best way to remove the chlorine

In a new system, suddenly topping up with a lot of chlorinated water can do some damage.  It is best to get rid of the chlorine or chloramine before using the water and if you have no other choice than to use chlorine/chloramine treated water, be sure to only top up very small amounts at a time.

@ Coty,

You should have a nitrite test done. If the bacteria has died, then you're in a re-cycle stage. The Nitrites will peak and this will cause fish death.
