I brought in Aphids on some Broccoli I got at a local nursery, and they went onto every plant!
And I want to caution (again) that if your AP system is in a GH (greenhouse) then I would never (in my case again) introduce someone else's GH plants into your system. Any plant bugs or diseases will flourish in your system and your choices of remedy are far more restricted than are theirs due to your FISH. Been there, done that.
AP is aquaponic, so the suggestion is to wash the roots in water from your aquaponic system. Discard the water after washing the roots.
Unless you have an ornamental display aquarium, I wouldn't bother cleaning the sides of the tank.
Dukie,
The brown slime is bio-slime (some could be algae but that is normally green.) You could wipe it off but the truth is the slime is part of your system bio-filtration so wiping it off is not a good thing to do. How bad it would be depends on how much additional filtration your system has.
