Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if it ok to add earthworms to my growbed medium? I'm so new and greener than the plants I hope to have.
they can be black and most definitely will live in gravel..best to check with a microscope to be sure.. if it's spider mites, a predator mite is the way to go.. use yellow sticky cards to catch some for viewing
could be spider mites, which are not good for your system....
When you add a new bed onto a system, that won't cause any ammonia or nitrite spikes. It would be a good idea to let the new bed start to be colonized for a time by the bacteria before adding more fish to the system. If you go adding more fish into a system at the same time as you hook up a new bed, you might see spikes if the system was already near capacity before.
Matt,
Thanks for the response. I see I posted this inappropriately and will post it again in the right spot, but appreciate your info.
