Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I'm trying to write a business plan for a commercial aquaponics "farm", but writing such a document is not really within my skill set, and I'm having trouble finding a good template to start from. Does anybody have such a business plan or template? Don't worry, I'm in Texas, so I won't be competition for you if you're elsewhere. :-)

If you don't already have a system, I'd also recommend starting off with a small scale home system to get the hang of things. There are plenty of mistakes to be made in an aquaponics system and it's best to make them in an environment where it won't cost you a fortune. There's already enough of a learning curve going from small system to commercial size. No experience to commercial is a leap that's bound to be pretty costly, in my opinion.

I am happy to send you our business plan, written in 2007, which got us a $100k loan from our local credit union...I'm not sure how applicable it will be, but you're welcome to it.

Tony, it's posted in this discussion in my comment of February 28th, you can download it directly from here by simply clicking on it. Aloha, Tim Mann

It looks like several people have wrote there business plans. I have been looking for the perfect piece of property and found it. It has a major hwy frontage and it's about 6 acres big. Right now it's all timber but a local logging company will log enough to get a building up and not clean the whole place. They money from that will help me allot. So I'm asking for some help too. Usda has some grants I found out but time is short. swc64844@yahoo.com

Here are two business plans that we give our students as part our live 5-day Commercial Aquaponics and Solar Greenhouse Trainings. Email me directly at training@friendlyaquaponics.com if you'd like much more information on starting a commercial aquaponic business; it's a DropBox link, and I can't post it in a public forum such as this. Aloha, Tim...........

Did you ever receive a template for an aquaponic buisness plan? I was interested in looking one over, to get my own ideas.

Thanks!

Friendly aquaponics is a good bet. You may want to attend a training from them that includes examples of biz plans. Very comprehensive imo. They have training in tx

Dear Troy,

did you succeed with your Business Plan for aquaponics?

I would appreciate much to hear about it, because we also have intentions to start here in Bulgaria, but a business plan is not that simple;  greetings

Chris,  Whats the latest with your farm? How did the plan work out compared to reality once up and running. Well I hope. Would be interested in feedback. Regards,  Alan

Coastview Aquaponics has posted our business plan for a small commercial farm in our group. We hope that it helps others in the process, and we ask to see yours when you get it done. We spent MANY hour researching and writing this plan to customize it for our farm. We are in he process of updating the plan as it has been nearly a year since writing it. Our current focus has changed a little and needs to be reflected in the plan.
