Even though my tilapia are 3-4 inches long they are still not taking to the second level sized food. They all hang out at the bottom of the tank. I have been feeding them fingerling food and they are eager to eat that but I find the second level food still floating on the top of the water when I go down for the next feeding. Any suggestions for getting them to eat the larger food? I tried feeding that only but still found a fair amount of uneaten food in the tank.

I am having the same issue!  I know they will eat larger food because the guy I bought them from was just feed all his tilapia regardless of size the Purina commercial feed.

You know, I've got similar problems and I don't have an answer for this either. It would be awesome to get this problem solved :) Anyone got any solutions?

Don't feed them for a few days. Let them get hungry then feed them. Works with the kids lol
I second that comment.

Any chance the bigger ones will eat the smaller ones?

Worked like a charm and after only two days. Thanks.

Same with my kids lol

is the smaller food a sinking fish food or do both float?

if they both float, mix in a little of the smaller food with the bigger food..

The smaller food sank and the bigger floats. But not feeding them for a day and a half worked well. They really went for the larger floating food this a.m.

Yeah my fish from 1" up all go for the large food if that's all that's put in.
