'Big Momma' is the 'boss' in the tilapia's breeding tank. She'll let the male chase her around for awhile. Eventually she tires of that and turns around and faces off with him. She's about a third bigger then he is. He's finally figured out, that she is the 'boss'.
The other day, as I walked by my breeder tank, 'Big Momma' thrashed the surface of the water. She was trying to get my attention...I guess she was hungry.
I reached over and lifted both lids, I looked around for the food and didn't see it right away. Of course, now she seemed 'really agitated'. I said..."If your so hungry, eat this !" I stuck my finger into the water and wiggled it. As soon as I stopped wiggling, she bolted and grabbed my finger. She had at least an inch of my finger in her mouth.
For a second or two I was shocked....I finally decided to pull my hand back. She let go when I did. I stood there in disbelief.....thinking, "I must be crazy"..... I'm talking to my fish, they understand me, they have me trained and I just got shown up by 'big momma'.
The saving grace is..... that I heard, if you wonder if your crazy, your probably not . Thank goodness !
