Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

This evening as I was finishing up my work on the aquaponics and feeding tthe fish for the evening I was over come by the feeling of being BLESSED.  So since the new year is about to start I think it is a good time to think back and see how much we have been blessed by different things that have happened in our life this year.  I have been especially blessed in the Aquapoincs realm.  I have been totally blessed in finding this site not too long after Sylvia started it.  I have learned so much and been able to apply what I have learned to my aquaponics.  I am totally addicted to this site.  Here it is about 5 hours from the new year and I am writing this blog.  Go Figure.  I have been blessed by the generous way you give out information and help the newbies along.  I feel like I have a whole new world of friends.  It is wonderful at my age.  I have watched people my age get lonely because their friends start dying off.  I feel like I have just started to live and I want to live a  lot longer just to share aquaponics with people.  It is amazing to watch their faces when they come and see what can be done.

I have been blessed by all the WWOOFers I have hosted this year.  They came when I I had gotten way over my head.  They fell in  love with the aquaponics and saved the day.  Now I am blessed with many working systems.  Each new set have something to give so it is mutual sharing.  I have found another set of friends and these people again come from all over the world.

I am blessed because I have 2 wonderful children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  Even though I don't get to see them that much I can use the computer to both see them and talk to them.

I am blessed that I live in beautiful Hawaii where my spirt has found peace.  I am blessed that I found the place where I belong and have a wonderful house to live in and an acre to do my farming on.  I am blessed that I have a job that pays for all these things.

I am especially blessed that I have a  God that loves me and gives me all that I have.  No matter what He is always there

Soi fellow aquapons how have you been blessed this year?

Raychel

I’m so guilty of chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, that I rarely stop and observe the beauty of that rainbow.  Even with the trials of hurt, disappointments, losses of loved ones.  God has blessed me with friends, family, and this wonderful country.

Thank you

I wish I could say that AP has saved me from smoking CRACK but unfortunately I can't. But what I can say is that it has introduced me to being a semi producer instead of a pure consumer. It is infectious when I tell my friends that I as well as they can supplement their food. Knowing where the food has come from and what has gone into making makes it taste that much better. The idea of an Aquaponic Food Web really appeals to me because it brings back community which we are sorely lacking in these fast paced times.

I want to thank Sylvia for making this place happen and to all of you guys that keep the content and new ideas flowing

What a lovely post, Raychel.  And such a perfect way to start the new year!  It was the first thing I read this morning (after the text from my 19 year old explaining why she isn't home and that she is safe  ).  You are so inspirational in your expression of appreciation!

I too am so blessed by what aquaponics has meant to me over the past year.  This community has been a big part of that.  I officially started it on Dec. 31, 2009, but the first members didn't join until Jan. 12 (Kathleen Paytner and Rebecca Nelson of Nelson and Pade).  It has grown, blossomed, and taken on a wonderful life all it's own.  I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see a community of optimistic, creative, brilliant people come together from all over the world to learn and share.  And getting to know incredible people like you has been the best part.

I have a feeling that 2010 was just a warm up for the 2011 aquaponics year.  When we look back at this time next year I'll bet we are going to say "2010 was wonderful, but wow, this year things have really taken off!"

Blessings, namaste, hugs, and Happy New Year!
