I need some too Robert, Im reluctant to get them now because they cant handle the heat so like you I have a few in my house.
A couple more pest control ideas include tomato leaves or at least the alkaloids in their leaves. I've had some success on aphids with this method.. But you have to catch them early. http://organicgardening.about.com/od/pestcontrol/a/spraysforaphids.htm
I've also tried this white fly trap technique, I found that petroleum jelly on bright yellow paper works well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA94gAwekBg
Hope these help...
Red Wigglers - I've found a few but I need a pound or two. Can anyone help?
ACP is very stiff. I'd suggest going to a sign shop to see if they have any scrapes.
When you hold it in your hands you will understand why I get excited about it.
Coroplast or Twinwall might work well too.
Interesting Bob,
how stiff is that panel?
Will it retain stiffness after cutting 2" holes for net pots?
Aluminum Composite Panel 24" x 48" - $28.00 Plus $13.00 shipping on ebay
I don't know if aluminum would be bad for the fish, but Aluminum Composite Panel is a really cool material that would be great to use in a GW Raft. It's a material used for signs and it's amazingly light. I've never had to buy it so I don't know what it costs, but it's worth going to a sign shop to see what it's like. When you hold it in your hands you will know what I'm talking about.
The 2 materials that come to mind are sheet PVC and ABS, They come in both solid and expanded form.
