We are in Peoria close to 83rd and Thunderbird. Thanks for the kind wishes, this group has always been free with advice and I hope to learn more as I ask questions while we get the operation up and running.

Its been quite some time since I've been on but I have managed to keep up with most of the posts. We moved to a new home and have an acre to play with now so I've added chickens and built out more grow beds for testing what will grow well in Phoenix.

My plan has been to build a commercial Aquaponics garden and see if I can make it as a farmer, the plans have been drawn up and we broke ground on our first 1600 sq' of grow beds last week. It will take some time and a lot of work but I hope to be open for business early in the spring. we have enough space to expand to 15,000 sq' of DWC and another 1800 sq' of dutch buckets, hopefully the business plan works.

I'm in need of some fish so anyone who has some to spare please let me know. Once we get past the land leveling stage I will invite anyone who wants to come and give their 2 cents over to see what we are doing.

Thanks to all of you.  Interesting and informative!  Sounds like insulation is used by all of you, but heating units aren't all that popular.  Did the math BTW and it'd be about 55 cents for 10 hrs of running a 500 watt pump on city of phx basic electric.

@John

You have my attention, I had to spend $90.00 for my 3 remote sensing data logging pool thermometers. I would be interested in building your kind of facilities into a tablet.

Thanks John! that is interesting

My above ground jacuzzi system is running 5-6 degrees colder overnight temperatures than my in-ground pond system.  Gonna have to do some work insulating in the next few days

Fish Tank Temperature

I have an Arduino data logger sending the temperature to the web every 6 seconds. Click on these links to see recent data:

I find it interesting.  Others might not.
