Nice John!
Seedlings: Look at them go.
It looks like the warmer weather agrees with the seedlings: they're off and racing.
I planted out a cucumber and roma tomato yesterday as the pioneers from this indoor grown batch.
Things are getting ready to kick into high gear Kim. You must be patient during the winter weather season. This summer you'll need to focus on expanding your grow space. In the fall, we'll make a convertible green house out of your arbor. Stick with me, I have great plans for you! When your system matures it will be even better. Keep the Faith!
As wonderful as Aquaponics is, it still takes time to start to get it right. Have faith
I've been considering a greenhouse; one more like how the garden pool does theirs, where they take off the covering in the summer and put shade cloth. I haven't done AP through the summer yet and am only a few mths into it, but so far already battling mildew and aphids. The birds haven't eaten any of my plants, yet, but I haven't had an abundance and if I had strawberries I imagine they'd have found them. I'm a bit surprised they haven't touched my cherry tomatoes. Anyone able to share any pros/cons of having or not having a greenhouse in Phoenix? thx much!
Maybe I romanticized aquaponics a bit; in more than one way. One of the things I've found myself disappointed with lately is all the brown on the tomato plants. Somehow I thought I'd have lush, green plants always. Am I simply mistaken in that or am I doing something wrong? I've heard how in AP the plants can grow much faster and I've heard that they can grow larger and smaller than in dirt. I've also heard different philosophies of pulling off the dead parts of the plant so to guide the nutrients and energy to the parts of the plant that need it and I've heard to keep it so that it protects the plant from the sun... Do you prune your plants? Any experiences welcome! thankyou. :)
The second largest session here with 14 contributed papers presented on the first day of the conference this year instead of the last, the impact of Aquaponics in world aquaculture is dramatically increasing!http://www.was.org
