Larry, think about looking at my system. I keep things simple and I buy what I need to keep it simple and fast.
Water temps
My experience
during the summer I hit as high as 95 degrees, this is out in the open, but protected after 2pm
During the winter, I have enough heaters in my tanks.I have a breeding tank outside at about 86 f (well insulated). and another breeding tank inside at about the same termperature. My males are in a greenhouse at about 80 degrees. the males do not need this temp and I will go down to 70 degrees this week
ok i am reading alot about temps for the fish. I was thinking of putting my IBC in the ground for the fish. Using the ground for warmth in the winter and cooler in the summer heat here in AZ What are water temps i can expect above ground summer and winter. Thinking above ground will need a heater in the winter time. Anyone out there play with a tank in ther gound for the threaml mass? if so what can i expect?
My son likes naughton. they are cheaper but only1/2 inch.
Larry I get all of my "bulk head fittings" from Ace. 3/4 inch.
I would love to veiw others as i am hopeing to break ground on my new sysyem an a few weeks. Wouldl love to talk to and get info from others in the metro area. Trying to to decide what type of system to build CLIFT-PIST but just found out they require a SLO system and not really sure what that is.
My original ideal was (and still may do it?) pump in fish tank and siphon bell water back to that? other than water in fish tank changing what other draw backs to this type of system?
I started out the other day shopping for some bulk head fittings and have not found any at Lowe's or Home Depot or the hydroponics stores in my area? could some one point me in the right direction?
Looking forward to learning alot and quickly i want to start this ASAP
Thanks Larry
A tour in March would be great. The next couple months are pretty busy here. My router went out so I just went two days offline, so I'm way behind on my virtual life! Let's put on our thinking caps and get things rolling in January.
Merry Christmas to all! (Or Happy Hanukkah!)
Hi everyone, just wanted to drop in and tell everyone hello and Merry Christmas. It has snowed almost everyday here and all my tomatoes froze :( they where looking good too. I will keep plugging along, hope all of you get your wishes come true. Ken
