Holly

I feed the aquamax to my adult males. at first they did not eat it like the premium fish food. now they are gobbling like before. Sherri had the same experience

Thank you for the duckweed link..

That's a decent price, Holly. My fish are eating the Purina now, but they aren't fond of it.
Did I ever post this? Things have been so very busy that I can't keep track of what I'm doing! This is from Premium Fish Foods. My original message to them is below their response.

Hello Sheri,

Thanks for contacting us.

1. Yes, our newsletter process is a bit cumbersome to put it nicely.  It is a limit of our website system.  We really only use it to contact existing customers currently.  We are actually in the process of a massive site overhaul which will improve greatly on the newsletter function and make the site much more user friendly overall.

2. We offer retail website discounts to associations, clubs and related groups.  These are usually in the 5-15% range.

3. We do provide larger quantities on wholesale or distribution arrangements at substantially reduced prices.  Minimum purchase amounts are typically 10 bags (a bag is 50 pounds) per product.

4. We ship to retailers, but that is subject to a resale agreement with the business and verification of various items (business license, tax number, etc).

Let us know if you have any other questions.  We're happy to help!

Greetings! I have a four questions:

It appears that I have to submit my billing information in order to
subscribe to your newsletter. Is there a way to subscribe without submitting
address and phone?

2. Do you offer discounts to the Aquaponics Gardening Community? If so, how
much? If not, what does it take for a group to be considered for discount?

3. I live in the Phoenix, AZ area. We (who are active in the Aquaponics
Gardening Community) are seeking ways to get bulk food (50-60lb bags. Do you
package in quantities larger than 20lbs?

4. We are trying to work with feed stores & hydroponics stores to be points
of sale for the feed because shipping tends to make the cost out of reach
for individual buyers. Do you ship to retailers, and if so, what is the
minimum order and pricing structure for retail outlets?

Thanks!

Dave - thank you again for the food search.

Any feedback from the rest of you on this before we take the plung...It would last as awhile...Aquamax developer 600 for trout. Its got a protein rating of 41% and can get a 50 lb. bag for 40 plus tax from pet food depot.

Hello All,

Not too far away from getting my system up and running.  Another question.

What sort of air pumps are people using and are you happy with them.  How much does a reasonable air pump cost.   My fish tank is going to be about 500 gallons, if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

I'm learning so much, and I still don't know enough.

Trying again on duckweed link for gardenpool: http://gardenpool.org/aquaponics/duckweed-lemna-minor

Dad does talk about needing to get things just so for the happy propagation.  I'll see if I can still get him to drop by Dave's for a chat and a sample.

What Dave said fits my experience with duckweed. I grew it very well with hydroponics, as long as I changed the water very regularly and often. It also did better under growlights than sunlight, but I think the fresh water was the key. It grows very fast, so it's logical that it would require a lot of fresh nutrients. Let us know what you find out, Dave.

I am curious. my duckweed is doing great

I feed it new fish tank water everyday. this is aerated water..

I need to learn more .. I did plan to pick HC's dad's mind.

I dont understand duckweed, Ive tried to grow it three times but nothing seems to work. First I put it in a seed tray with hydroponics chemicals, then I tried to add a little pure ammonia with an air stone. The last time I got some more fresh stuff and just put it in a bucket under a tree using only rain water and one more bucket full of aquarium water, what else can I try?
