Wish I could have been there to learn and meet everyone, but I am happy to hear it came out really well.  A tour in combination with the party sounds like a great idea.  John...ouch on the rock digging.

John & Jacques, it was great seeing you, too. John, you're not quite as blue as I imagined you'd be. And Jaques, it's nice to see your hair and eyes. :)  I'm much taller than you imagined, aren't I? Haha!

David, I have your party in my calendar. It would be nice timing and another great chance to get to know each other and share ideas. And we wouldn't have to leave the room right away. :)  Maybe we can plan a tour that day, too. I think the VPA may be able to help us on that. Just thinking...

LOL! Yep, that's about it. Love the rock!  It looks like it would hold a lot of bacteria. :)

This is what you get when you did a hole for a fish tank in Arizona.

Yes, I concur John, the class was a nice ice breaker. Got a chance to talk with others there and hear and bounce ideas off one another from everything related to food, piping, fittings, grow media, etc. Makes a big difference to have a the ability to meet everyone face to face!

Thanks so much to Sheri for a very well produced presentation tonight. It was great to meet some forum members face to face. I'm looking forward with great hope to my new system armed with the good info from this class.

I just met some of the most interesting and enjoyable people tonight! It was such a pleasure to see the faces and hear the voices of the people I've been getting to know here in the forum. Fun times! Thanks to  those who made the class. AZ Aquaponics rules!

Since Ive been trying this new way to garden I have kept a journal of everything I have tried. I would recommend all newbies do the same.

Holly,

I bought that bag of Aquamax today, big bag, big pellets and my little fish didnt know what to do with them until they get soft in the water.

Sheri,

With the new filter I havent seen any floaters yet but the water still got so dirty. I think its because I didnt remove the gravel that was so polluted. Im just going to start totally fresh. I only want ten to twelve fish this time and gonna vac a little in the morning.

Maynhia,

Great idea. after a rain I usually siphon the water down to the level I wanted. an over flow on the fish tank should be relatively easy to do. I would not put it in my grow-bed, but that will work too.
