Does anyone know of any Aquaponics 202 classes or gardening 202 classes in the valley? I know there are a lot of 101 classes out there but I feel like I have a really good grasp on all of the basics, and I'd like to sit in on something more advanced.
Hi Jim, did you get more water fleas? I would like to get some from you thanks.

I agree Dr. Brooks! Friendly and helpful. They came out to our plant lab just to make sure everything was going well with the equipment we bought from them. Good people!
Home Grown are great people.
I get into mine every couple of months to help clean up plant matter, rinse out the pump, rearrange rocks, rearrange the lilies, maintenance type stuff. I kind of think of it the same way as swimming in a lake or pond. The only thing that really sucks about it is stepping on snails, and with pond liner everything is really slick so i'm always worried about falling.
Hey Arizona people. Not sure if you have ever been to any hydroponics stores but they have some great stuff for your aquaponic set up if you would like to get away from the box stores and buy local. These guys have helped out our garden club in the past and feature us on their facebook page. Have also gotten parts for my own aquaponics set up. Give them a shot. https://www.facebook.com/hgh.tempe
Hey Jim, Let me know when you get some fry's too or at least ones that are an inch long. I'm gonna need to replace some fish as well - and I'll stay away from the hybrids for the time being.
Kim, I wouldn't swim in it just because I would think it would be an easy way to get pathogens in your system.
considering putting in a natural pool as a part of our AP system. we have no pool so it'd be a large pond that we'd swim in. Our kids are 5 yrs and up. My husband is not sure about the idea due to bacterias... I looked up "dangers of ponds" and first link did have a list of dangers to consider for home ponds like ecoli and gardia or other parasites. this reminds me slightly of a convo we had on this forum end of last year when i was told by a lady who owns a pond store that she'd never eat veggies grown from an AP system due to it possibly having salmonella or something like that. I remember her theory being poopood on this forum, but actually swimming in your AP pond? would u do it? anyone know much about this subject? thankyou!
