If anyone is looking for 275gal or 330gal clean IBCs, we have some for sale. Shoot me a message at FarmAndGarden@i4ie.com for info.
Awesome structure, Dr. George!
Jim, LOL! Since I don't have walls or turtles, I guess I'll just have to add in a water feature to the AP expansion when that happens. In our abundant spare time. Uh huh. ;^D Our best to you, too!
P.S. At Aquaculture America 2013 in Nashville this past Feb, there were 2,500 scientists, entrepreneurs and practitioners present. Incredible networking and the aquaponics section was great including talks by Nelson and Pade. A little pricy but I got my money's worth.
Hi Bob. I made the post to encourage all to attend. WAS meetings like Aquaculture America are where the good stuff is and are a fountain of information. You don't need to submit an abstract to attend. I often just go to learn. There is still time to submit an abstract however if you hurry. Now not all computers are the same. On my screen link to abstract submission is on the left side of the screen from the link I sent. If you do not see this go to: http://www.was.org, click on events and scroll down to Aquaculture America 2014.
Just submitted our abstract for Aquaculture America 2014. Now lets see if it gets accepted. Should be an interesting conference.

Justin,,, your right.. its time to think about heaters,, if you order one from AES in October/November, it may ship by January... I like to build them from stainless steal water heater elements..

This might be a little early considering its over 100 degrees everyday.... but looking to the future... how are you all heating your water during the winter months? Im trying to get ideas so I can build something before the winter months and be prepared for the cold.
Hi Sheri Welcome back!
The plant...well you could sawzall it apart and give pieces to unsuspecting AP mates on the next tour, that's what I did.
The water iris has beautiful yellow flowers for several weeks in the spring. I suggest you create a water feature in your backyard with your AP water and use the Iris as a focal point or a screen plant so you don't have to look at the blank wall as is my case. The turtle really enjoys sunning behind it because he doesn't have to take a dive every time I walk out the back door. poor guy
Felicitations to you and Bob as well!
Jim
FYI
Researchers from three schools– Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland and West Virginia University – are combining forces to conduct the largest survey of the aquaponics field. The survey will collect critical information about production methods and community engagement among aquaponics hobbyists, educators, farmers and companies. The responses will help contribute to a better understanding of this growing field.
