@Dr Brooks, if you want to pick some up and not wait for delivery the Reef Culture store has them. Just call them ahead of time and see if they have the sizes you need.

I probably have some of most every size if you need a couple right away except for 3/4 I think
What is a good store to buy UniSeals from?
I went with 6 inch centers on a few boards that I was replacing. That gave me 45 holes per raft as opposed to the 21 I had before using 8 inch centers.
Pat we have a 3x4 (about) raft with 36 holes and are using 2" pots. We're growing leafy greens primarily - lettuce, kale, spinach, etc. When we've grown larger things, we've just left the spaces around it empty.
Think about the size of the plants you'll be growing to determine the pot size and hole distance.
Initially we were going to alternate rows to maximize the number of holes, but then we thought about the blue board design, which has lines to allow it to break easily. We decided not to drill holes on those lines. That way, if the plants got too heavy and the board broke along a line, we'd still have complete boards...just smaller. Nothing would be wasted.
I use 4 or 5 holes/ft2. Tried up to 16, but 4 to 5 actually seemed to work better.
@Pat, we are a talkative bunch
I wanted to post this here as this is one of the most active groups on the site.
I am replacing several of my old piece of crap styrofoam rafts with Dow blue boards. I also want to change my hole grid pattern and was wondering what is the consensus for the best spacing for an IBC tote? I am currently using 8 inch spacing which gives me room for 21 pots. That is 6 rows with alternating 4 per row and 3 per row. Before I commit and start drilling/burning, I wanted to see what others use.
Just as an FYI, the next meeting of the Tucson Aquaponics Project is Tue, September 3, 2013. I've been to one of their meetings and it was pretty good. A full room (30 to 40 people) with great networking and good information. Here is the link:
