I think this is a great idea, especially if it works!  I just noticed my discussion on my personal system had a posting after 9 months or so, going off into the weeds about something someone else had gone off into the weeds about this spring.  Ack!

Yeah TC, that's what I did with the first discussion here, copied the gist here as a discussion, then copied the link to the new discussion back to the innocent. The only bummer is that followers will have to join the group to comment. Let me know if you discover a more elegant solution.

Good Luck with it Jon, I know few forums really manage to keep original threads clean of hijacks but if you are quick about it, copy the hijack and paste into a new discussion in your group here and see if you can get people to move.  Probably will require posting a link the the Threadjack back in the original innocent post since otherwise it will be too hard for most people to find and in the Threadjack you will need a link back to the original innocent post when you first set it up.

Tedious but probably the only effective way to deal with it since ning doesn't give any good way to merge, move, or split discussion.  Heck you pretty much have to copy each post individually too.  Really tedious.

We shall see, TC. I figured it was more courteous than discussing tangeants on innocent posts, especially for subjects like Uberman, that have nothing to do with AP, yet still must be discussed. :)
