I think this is a great idea, especially if it works! I just noticed my discussion on my personal system had a posting after 9 months or so, going off into the weeds about something someone else had gone off into the weeds about this spring. Ack!

Good Luck with it Jon, I know few forums really manage to keep original threads clean of hijacks but if you are quick about it, copy the hijack and paste into a new discussion in your group here and see if you can get people to move. Probably will require posting a link the the Threadjack back in the original innocent post since otherwise it will be too hard for most people to find and in the Threadjack you will need a link back to the original innocent post when you first set it up.
Tedious but probably the only effective way to deal with it since ning doesn't give any good way to merge, move, or split discussion. Heck you pretty much have to copy each post individually too. Really tedious.
