Ron, how many kilowatts is that pump going to use? Even if you got it for free, you may find after getting your first electric bill that it may be worth it to go spend a fair bit of money to get an energy efficient and appropriately sized pump for your system. My first big system pump was a "free" above ground pool pump, after the first electric bill, I turned around and was willing to pay $500 for a good pump to save that much in less than a years time on the electric bills.
Aquaponic Lynx diagrams page to get you started. What kind of system were you planning do set up? Do you know yet?
@Brad, there are many options: uniseals, bulkhead fittings etc... It all depends on how you are going to set it up. Might be a better question to ask when you know how your system is going to be designed.
I am starting an IBC system for our college and was wondering if anyone knows where to find a good reference for the plumbing of the tank. It is a 275 gallon tank.
Derrick, I did sure up the barrels raised the whole thing for draining system
.
yes still free stuff wood 7 pump and I picked up 30 5 gal buckets with lids going to make dutch bucket system with them ..love it ..but sooner or later I will pay $$ ..
Right Bob., same idea. The fridg allows more capacity. I have 4 three pound trout going in mine now. We are about out of bacon, so that is next. The great thing about them, in addition to how cheap they are, is that they require no monoriting. Just get it going and walk away for 7 or 8 hours.
