I would like any feedback regarding recommendations of mag pumps. I have been using 1.5 hp pumps for our oxygen systems but in some applications it's too much.I would like to offer a system using a…Continue

"Hi Michael. Everything is custom built. There are some details about my setup on my blog at http://web4deb.blogspot.com or my youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/web4deb. If you have additional questions I'll be glad to answer them. Perhaps…"

"Is there a specific reason to want mag drive or submersible? Mag drive pumps are oil-less. If you break a seal in a typical centrifugal pump, the oil could kill fish and plants. Once oil get into a system it is very difficult to get out. Cheers, Tom"

"KJ I think you are right on. I use a $1200 D.O. meter which reads up to 100ppm. The water here in Victoria, BC is 8.7ppm., same as your water readings. Here's something interesting; we can saturate oxygen in seawater up to 65ppm, but only 40ppm…"

"I have a Hanna HI83203 Aquaculture photometer. As I said in the final paragraph of my post, it is not impossible for the machine to err, but as I have always had the same readings, I was never in doubt thus far - fish also never showed any signs of…"

"Kobus, Not lecturing you, getting your to share more so I can learn from you! In my reading, so far the only examples I've heard of that might super saturate had to do with a pump sucking in some air bubbles and under pressure forcing them to…"

"Let me rephrase, as it seems as if my attempts to be brief always results in my question being used as an opportunity to lecture me. Considering that my AP system adheres to Henry's Law and has heard of Le Chatelier's Principle, I should…"

"There is a such thing as super saturation which would be bad for fish, however, you can't get super saturation with just water splashing in shallow tanks or a regular atmospheric air pump bubbling through an air stone so no worries…"

We have a patented system that oxygenates water for little cost and high volume.

www.Gaiawater.com

oxygen good for plants and fish

We have been working with open net salmon farms in Coastal British Columbia as our system is very efficient at micro diffusing oxygen in water for little cost. Fish eat more and grow larger when lots of oxygen is available. We also install our systems in greenhouses for growing tomatoes lettuce cukes etc. as plants love oxygen in their roots.

So fish and plants need more oxygen than what is typically available. This makes our company very excited to get involved with aquaponics. Gaia Water is also working with Terrasphere Systems, leaders in urban vertical farming. www.TerrasphereSystems.com

Please contact me anytime with questions or information regarding fish and plant health.

Cheers,
Tom Richardson Gaia Water
