Caution mindless rambling not related to Aquaponics follow. Inspired by the John Todd post I replied to.
Let me cut to the chase I completed one of my early quests when I found the Holy Grail. Here is the secret.
"You and the earth are one." My organic medicated brain can't seem to remember if it was a line from one of those 70s Arthur legend movies or just a moment of enlightenment. You know an AHa moment or profound revelation etc.
I have always…

Well the secret is out. I have fish and a fish feeder in an unsecured greenhouse. Oh us stupid humans. As a Ferengi I use to know would say. Hue-Mons they are strange. It seems a terrestrial Invader has found first my fish feeder and then my gallon jar with fish food. A racoon I surmise. Woe is me. I have heard the many stories of the cunning invaders. They can open jars and navigate wires. All may be lost but the thrill of the Game is on. Sure I could go the mundane route of a steel…

So here is some scale. That Aliflor bed that it is in is about 14" square. The cabbage plant on the left is over 3 feet wide. I harvested it today for the leaves in my green drinks.
Now the monster on the right is about 6 feet or so. I am really tempted to let it keep growing. I has no HEAD. What the heck is going on. I think it know that if it heads I will harvest…

Well I missed the Kodak moment. Although this wasn't bad. When I went by yesterday Elvis was bent backwards at the knees. So that photo would have been named the Incredible pelvis of Inflatable Elvis. But alas when I went back to take the photo Elvis was completed deflated. I guess that famous stage move of his of…

Hi Mike,
TCLynx says you might have some advice for me re the Sacramento AP tour I'm organizing (see http://aquaponicscommunity.com/forum/topics/advice-on-organizing-an-ap-tour?). Any tips would be appreciated.
Best wishes, and thanks in advance for your time - Paul
I would like to see that also, could you tell me more?
I was not aware of his work, is it still continuing?
Not much yet. I would like to see if we can get Aquaponics into the local schools.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the invitation, but I'm already member of the group.
Do you ever come over to Orlando?
Best Regards

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the invite. We are just about to start our system. We are still collecting some material to build the grow beds and establish the tank system. Happy to know we have a resource to consult with if there are issues on up start. We will be happy for you to visit once we are established! Our aquaponic project was slowed down because we are also in the process of starting a vineyard and winery. Lots of work to be done and only two of us doing it for now. Once the vines are in the ground we will be redirecting to the aquaponics and would love your assistance!
hope to make some of the visits to systems up and running.

I'm very glad to have gotten to handle that pump and see how it worked with the indexing valve. Is it still doing the job well? If so I'll be recommending that pump for similar situations instead of the larger Quiet Ones (the QP 4000 definitely beats out the Danner 7 big time but I think the Danner you are running probably beats the comparable Quiet One, especially in the cost of replacement parts. The QP 4000 is only able to run a gravity modified valve in a very limited set of circumstances.)
Have you noticed any difference in the clogging or not clogging of the tubes to the vertigrow stacks?
How bout a picture of the fish tank? Is the water clearing up enough to see the fish?
