Sounds clarifying to me

I think that's getting closer Sylvia... and allows for most methodologies to be incorporated, even DWC & NFT...

But we have a seperate definitions reegarding constant flood.. unless they've been merged into this...

And DWC/NFT... which are constant flow... and constant flood... without any "drain"... so to speak...

Perhaps we should merely define the constant flow, as opposed to interval flow (which could be seperately defined)...

And leave the constant flood... and flood & drain definitions to their own sections...

Examples can always be given in each section...

Yes I agree.

Constant flow seems to me to be more a definition of pumping (and hence where much of the confusion comes in probably)

While when we talk about the grow beds Constant Flood would be a more appropriate term when we are talking about a media bed that doesn't drain down like it would in timed flood and drain or siphon flood and drain.

constant flow in 50 words or less : in my system i have 8 growbeds feed constantly by two pumps with auto siphon for drain so constantly filling and draining about 20 minutes to fill and about 5 minutes to drain constant flow?

Sounds to me like the definition needs to define

Constant Flow as a definition of pumping method.

Then a separate definition for

Constant Flood Media bed

i agree it is a two part system the pumps i used flip my 400 gallon pool every hour through grow beds with out the siphon, not sure how would drain in a timely fashion .they make it so easy to setup very dependable

Ok here it goes, constant flow is the critical mass needed to garden aquaponics style,

The flow is more than the water moving, the flow is a result of extreme gardening, making a super amount of plants grow thru the super feeding of fish biology, constant flow can mean the water flow, it can also describe the ergonomics needed to make the fundamentals swing into high gear and keep it flowing in the spirit of the deal.

As we say, keep up the numbers!!!! "positive is how we live"   this is about critical mass. hope this helps.

i sent out  a diffrent take? cheers

Hello, to all, the disadvantage is nil, when you garden for your own , and the needs of a few... the advantage is in the production value, to revenue at home small scale gardening, also gardens are not farm per say,, this is my 2nd post here. it allows numerous proper answers, thank you Sylvia, the question is what keeps you up at night... ask yourself that we do all the time....
