'His Way Produce' in the FL panhandle

Hi, I've been up in the Fl panhandle for the last few weeks. My buddy and his wife live in Cottondale, FL. I went up there to help them add an aquaponics system to a green house they were buliding.

While there, we took a few days to build a small aquaponics system for thier churches' produce stand.

The produce stand....His Way Produce, is a ministry to the local area. They are helping to feed lots of folks in the area, that are in need. 

The property,  that the produce stand sits on,  is around 14 or so acres. They already had about 12 acres of garden area planted when I got there.

Here you can see some of the 1400 plus tomato plants that they already have planted. They have a water hose run underneath the plastic.

They are also trying a purple sweet corn, that has more anti-oxidents then blueberries.

We used an olive barrel for the fish tank.

 

 

 

Here's a shot of the system. The water is pumped into the media beds. Then the bell siphon,  drains into the raft beds. Then they drain back to the fish tank.

You can see the stackers in the background. There,  they are growing strawberrys hydroponically.

 

 

One of the other things we helped with, was pulling the plastic onto one of the green houses,  they are setting up. In these, they are planning on doing aquaponics.

With lots of help, it wasn't too bad.

 

 

In this picture, you can see the size of the green house. Plus, you can see the concrete block structure. They are planning on making that the fish tank.

It'll need a good cleaning. Then they'll use a prep/sealer on it before painting it with a 2 part epoxy paint.
