- We have a Friendly Aquaponics style micro system, with 80sq ft of hydroponic troughs. The fish tank is a 275 gallon aluminum cage style plastic square container. This is a deep water culture system. It began June 2010 with fish, with plants added soon after. Roughly 10-15lbs of white and brown tilapia. The whole system is under a pvc/visquene hoop house on the windy north shore of Maui.

- We operate completely off grid.
We have been operating a 80sqft DWC system since June 2010 and are building a 2,600sqft system a la Friendly Aquaponics that should be online this summer 2011.
We are 23 and 27 with no aquaculture experience and doing just fine!

A great place to start is to read the How to Use This Site link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Main page. Plus, since you found us through Friendly Aquaponics you will want to join their group. Click on “Groups” in the menu at the top of the page, find “Friendly Aquaponics Talks Story” and select “+ Join Friendly Aquaponics Talks Story”.
You can join as many groups as you like, start forum topics, share photos and videos, and a whole lot more.
