To connect from PVC pipe to a garden hose, I go to Ace hardware and get the PVC slip to male or female hose connector. I prefer male, and put female connectors on the garden hose. i buy hose repair female fitting and install it on a cut hose. On all of our air compressor I install a short 6 inch hose to fit the air compressor with a hose clamp. then I put a MALE fitting on the end of the hose.
On ALL of our air lines I have a FEMALE at BOTH ends of the hose. Easier to connect.
