Allysyn the water is forces thru the gray nipple past the top of the tee. This causes a vacumn and draws air into the water as it is forced past the tee. No electronics or anything is needed for a venturi to operate. Just water pressure. You might be seeing the reducing bushing that the gray nipple is screwed into Allysyn.

Wow!

What is the white piece inside the T-joint? How does the water get through?   It just sucks air into the water stream that is diverted back to the fish? Nothing electronic involved?

Rachel I use a tee. The tee is 1 in slipxslipx 1/2 female threaded. I then screw a 1/2 nipple by 6 in long into a 1 inch slip reducing bushing. I then glue this together. I then screw a 1/2 90 into the top of the tee and put some poly on it to keep it above the water line. Rachel if this is too complicated take a pic for me where it is going into your system and what size pipe and pump you have. I will build you one and ship it in a flat rate box to you. You will have to send me a taro in return hehe. I have more pics on this if it helps. Take care............D

David

I am going to adopt your idea of the bucket but this is what I really nee also.  How is this made.  My son in law just introduced me to this term last month.  How exactly do you build this.  I hate not having the knowledge or the skills like this.  I have some set apart tanks and I need to get oxygen to the water.  Most of my tanks have a blower to them but some do not.  CXould you please enlighten mw.  Mahalo Raychel
