David, I'm curious how well has the cooling tube with misters worked for you?
just saw somthing. are you thinking of misting inside a vent? sounds soggy
ok david here you go (disclamer, no one ever know everything) when i started this bed i said to my self, if diderent crops have diferent needs (water) and diferent seasons will change them, how do i choose the corect hight for the siphon and what if i want contant flood later?so i will start with the finished product and work backwards. the 1 inch pipe (the one with red print) is the center of the bell siphon. the piece halfway down like is a 2 to 1 inch reducing coupler. the bell is 2 inch pipe. you can see that the part that is below the ring is kinda long (after watching all kinds of vids and people complaind about bad siphons i noticed that most had short drops. so long it is also once this 1 inch goes in place i have a 90 deg elbow with about 2 feet of 1 inch ending in another 90 deg elbow turned sideways. these 2 turns slow the waters drop a little and just seem to help keep the suction going till the waters gone. next slide
see that little lip inside? its gota go, if you got the time and a dremmel tool ok but i just whaked it of whith a grinder, also narower makes the next step easier. the part were you get to hammer the lil buger down over the 1 inch pipe til you get to the depth you think you want. think wd40, soap.
yes uniseals are great but i want to be able to swich things out fast and easy.(ok i tried them and found that if i was going to use them in swap pipe outs i needed to have arms like Shaq) the key word her is REDUSING adapter look at the lip. ya want the one on the Left, got more holding power.
if they are 2 to 1 inch redusers the 1 inch pipe will go rite through them.
