Venting of this stove in a vinyl greenhouse would be very simple, as the exhaust can be let out under the frame work of the greenhouse then go up.

This stove will be more for the homesteader. Those that are home and near the house or greenhouse often. Once the mass is heated, (cobb, rammed earth, concrete, etc.) it will radiate that heat for sometime. But during the heating process it requires attention every 30 - 45 minutes. It wont be widely available for some time as it hasnt been certified yet. Estimated price range is about $2,000 -$2,200.00. It is still at the proto-type stage, and will be in R&D for the water heat exchanger. But it is exciting, opening up options for the rural user with a good deal of windfall fuel and time for tending.

How does this compare with the pellet stove and am I going to be disappointed I didn't wait to get this instead? I've heard of these before.

This is a Rocket stove that burns sticks, twigs, and narrow pieces of wood. It is very clean burning and the horizontal exhaust that you would lay into your thermal mass has been tested to 47 feet! We will be offering them soon...

Cycling a new system
I started up my basement aquaponics system 2 weeks ago 300 gal take, 2 grow beds with plants and a few gold fish in the tank. I filled it with water pumped out of my 5,000 gal. otuside koi pond that had been running 10 years and has a stable bio going. The following are my latest readings and I'd like a bit of interpretation if anyone can share that with me. My plan is to keep rainbow trout when I finally stock it.
temp 66.6
ph 7.5
amonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 7-10 (I have trouble interpreting the color card)
any comments or advice.

Phil,
I love how you go for things in a BIG way! I wish I was within throwing distance of that tank of fish. I'd have you toss me a few when they're of size.

I don't know if this is old news or not but Oregon F&WL may be doing away with the $127 premit fee for raising tilaipa indoors for personal use. The actual ruling change won't be known until October 5th but I thought I'd pass on what I heard from them.
Still trying to figure out HOW to raise them in Southern Oregon without breaking the bank.
