Hi guys,
i spent some months looking for Tilapia and was only able to get it in Montreal at a fish store.. they weren't super healthy and die.
I spoke with the ministry of fishery and different hatcheries around Canada.. no one seems to know why it is like this.
I had my aquaponic in Montreal running with trout.
50 fingerlings .......well about 5 weeks old. Nitites are 2 nitrates at 5. Indeed i will get some more liquid bacteria.
liquid kelp is fertilizer. How many fish are in your system? what is your nitrates at? have you tryed to add liquid bactira to jump start your system. liquid bactira can be purchused at a pet store that sells fish.
Well have 50 month old tilapia in a 40 gal. aquarium & were are trying to bring the ammonia down from 4 & the nitrite down. Do you think liquid kelp will help?
Are they in the toxic levels yet? have you tryed adding the bactira that the pet stores sell for aquariums?
For the last month we have been trying to bring our Ammonia & nitrite levels down;does anyone have any suggestions.
Is anyone using perch in there system?
yes
I find it interesting that there is a couple of new tilapia operations out west and they have not been able to purchase fry from gary ,I have been told he was not in production
Do you have an aquaponic setup?
