Are you an aquaponic gardener already?
getting set up now, 400 gallon tank plus anohter 120 gallon pond
If so, what type of system? (pick all that apply)
I took a one day backyard tilipia farming course at Morning Star Fishermen in Dade City, Florida. my tank is an old hot tub. My filtering system is in two garbage cans right now but I'm looking for a used (preferably free) bathtub to put plants and replace one can. Still getting parts, as money allows.
Please tell us something else about yourself.
during the fish seminar they asked everyone why the were taking the class - all said they were doing mission work and wanted to learn fish farming. They got to me and I said - well, I'm doing mission work in my back yard. I have a Living Friendship Community Garden with 10 plots and fish/hydroponics are the next step in being sustainable

Hi,

Was wondering how your system is going?   I am just South of Ocala in Summerfield, and was wondering how your setup was going.

Cheers

Lucy,
Thanks for the reply. No I am not up and running yet; I am gathering informaition.
I am in the process of putting up my hoop house/shade greenhouse .As soon as I get that done I will be starting to put in my tanks and grow beds. It is a slow process.

Morning star fisherman. You should take the one day course if possible. They were suppose to be all male but fry show up every so often. I call them feed.
If you are going to get some make sure you contact them in advance and arrange what you want, how many and when you are going. They will have them ready. Also make sure you have an aerator and a tote or something with NO WATER in it so they can put the water the fish are in. Only fill it half way as it sloshes a lot. There may be some local sources also.
