be careful when adding duckweed to AP systems it can take over the entire surface very fast and become a plague. In the aquarium trade we called it aquarium herpes. Its a great fish food but id be careful if i was adding it to a system i grow some at home in rubber mades to put on my salads and sandwiches.

THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT STEVE R. LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT MORE ON WHAT I'AM DOING HERE I HAVE A 300 GALLON  JACCUZI AND, I HAVE A 60 GALLON RUBBER MAID SUNKEN IN THE MIDDLE OF IT WITH THE TOP "2" INCHES ABOVE THE WATER SO I CAN USE THE NUTREINTS FROM  MY AQUAPONICS SYSTEM (TILAPIAS)  SO HOPEFULY I'AM OK THIER .NOW THAT ,YOU SPIKED MY CURIOSTY, YOU SAY YOU EAT DUCKWEED  ON YOUR SALADS AND SANDWICHES  I, SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THAT ONE .NO FUN INTENDED, I'AM A HEALTH BUFF MYSELF SO TELL ME ,WHAT IS THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF EATING DUCKWEED.

Sure duckweed is the highest protein per gram of any plant on earth. Its also one of the fastest growing. Its great animal feed and not bad to add to your food for extra protein. It also has vitamins B and C. Its a great little extra vitamin source that is ridiculously easy to grow.

In my experience unless you quarantine the duckweed in the FT the fish will devour it. I had an IBC covered with duckweed and a batch of fingerlings took care of it in 4 days.
