We had a pretty good storm last night and my fish were slower to feed this morning. One of my large Tilapia jumped ship. It was still breathing and I impulsively put it back into the tank. I wish I had put it my aquarium for observation)
I've always put my jumpers back in the main tank and have never had a problem. It might be a better choice to isolate the the adventurous fish, but I think you can rest easy.
Was the skin rough? I put one back in once, she seemed okay swan well even, but the skin was rough (dried out), she never got over it and died several days later.
