Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Are any of your kids or kids you know interested in AquaPonics? Since I don't have any of my own I show as many kids as I can. It gets them excited about building and growing things. And it surely is a better baby sitter than the TV I just wish I had the funds and space to have a community AP garden so I can share with everyone.

We are really fortunate in Milwaukee to have Matt Ray, a fantastic teacher at a local Montessori school who has an absolutely amazing aquaponics greenhouse at the school.  The kids love the system, and do a great job of brainstorming new ways to make it better.  I found an article and some pictures of Matt's greenhouse here.

I also should mention Jim Godsil's wonderful goal of having an aquaponics system in every school.  He's been diligently working with our non-profit to try and make that a reality - with great progress already!

The one youngster that came to our Workshop was quite the task master when it came to gravel washing.  Definitely a great activity to get kids involved with.

Hum, all the more reason to get it into schools and other places, so the kids can come home and show the parents how great it all is.

Right now I am talking to a Principal in hopes that I can be an instructor. It will be great :)
