I have a 300 gal. goldfish pond with a waterfall.  How do I start a leafy green garden in the holding container for the waterfall?  How do I contain the seeds.

You would probably need to make a raft and contain the seed in little net pots with some media like gravel or clay balls or something similar.

You might need to run some water tests to see if your pond has enough left over nutrients to feed veggies.  Here is the test kit most of us use.

Water testing

This is where aesthetics and function require a lot of work.  Your waterfall most likely simulates a natural looking stream with a few ornamental plants sunk in the flowing water.   Now the question is how are you going to replace these ornamental plants with vegetables and keep everything accessible and do all this without loosing the aesthetic appeal.

You could run two systems off the pond.  One pumps the water to the stream, and a second pumps water to the grow beds located away from the stream.  Keep in mind that the nutrient balance needs to be maintained, so you may have to add more fish.
