This is my first discussion post! Exciting!
So, although I'm really interested in aquaponics and have done ton of research, I have never seen a system in real life... Well, it's a problem. Does anyone know a commercial scale system near Burlington Vermont that I can visit, or possibly a facility looking for an intern or volunteers?
Thanks!

I know there is at least one small commercial aquaponics system in New England somewhere.
so there are not many in this area huh. i guess the soil is fertile enough + people don't eat much fish??

And it gets cold and aquaponics isn't the type of thing you can really shut down completely for several months of the year and then just turn it back on again when you are ready for spring planting so even if you are growing cold tolerant fish, you would still need enough heating to keep water from freezing in the greenhouse over winter. I'm not saying it can't be done cause there are people doing it, just not that many on a commercial scale in New England.
Ah, Now I remember here is a link to a Farm in New England with an aquaponics system
Wonderful! Thank you so much for this info! I appreciate it.
Kazuha, Cabbage Hill is a great "growing up north” reference. I hope you’ll post other northern AP farm finds here. I lived in Essex Jct. for years as kid. Don’t forget a scarf...
Hi Kazuha,
Good to see you on here too, this is Aragon from Japan Aquaponics. Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks in Tokyo.
