I started with gold fish in a 10 gallon. Then to tropical and also on to planted tanks. The gold fish needed a pond which led me into making my own bio-filter and describing I wanted aquaponics before I knew what it was. I have also began to write articles for the New Hampshire Aquarium Society relating to aquaculture. All that was old info so much has changed since then. 2/5/13

No way really!  Now that would be funny if she did!  I just found the best hydro supply store right in Mercer that I didn't even know existed!  They have everything - but they didn't even know what aquaponics was until I explained it to them.  It's going to be my new favorite store I think.   Your pics are amazing I was actually looking at them the other day and was like - see that is what I want my plants to look like!   Soon I hope.

I agree with you. My husband & I do more with observation than measurements. We're all different, which makes the world fun! :)

Glad you found it helpful. It's not original to me; it was in another thread somewhere else earlier. Last year, I was doing research on chloramines and looking for a solution for volumes of water for a commercial raft system. Being familiar with aquarium keeping, I'd figured on using a water conditioner if I had to for the problem.  I'd never read the label on the bottle, but, sure enough, the warning was there.  I happened to have 3 different products right then! I wrote to a company that didn't have the warning; their response was their product was safe if used for ornamental fish in the manner intended.
