Thank you, Gale

thanks for the excellent website and community resource.

I would like to get an aquaponics system up within the next year. so far working slowly as time and money allows. So far only building verticle hydroponic ebb n flow systems only, and clearing my small farmland. Can see here, but i need to work on my videography skills.

Ok this is good we both got a challenge ahead I will get some from a hatchery near by, but am undesired were to put them in a tank or the little pond were am building a system, You may see it on my wall, that pond was made originally for water lilies it have different levels  and had gold and koi but now is empty I put all of them in an aquarium temporally till we finish the greenhouse The book also say that blue gills reach maturity after the 2nd year or when are 3 inches long and spawning take place when water temperatures reach 70 -75 May - August and are very prolific. Wish you the best with yours and keep in touch. CJ

Hi: TC: you say that don't like to mess with tilapias to much do to the water temperature. Am also somewhat concern on this. After all am not in to selling, Blue gill is a good option for me here in Georgia as well in Florida we have the giant blue gill, I was reading a book with the characteristics of this fish and in breeding it say they like a gravel or sandy bottom were they construct a saucer shape nest in a one or two feet of water next to each other, well that is good for a pond, what about in a tank My question to you is TC do you have any info in this or personal experience in breeding blue gill that can help. Thanks CJ
