Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

A visit to Jersey City,NJ to see my Daughter and Son-in-Law finally became a realty (had to postpone it after I had an achilles tendon rupture last August). As fate would have it, this was the third Friday of the month...the day scheduled for visitations to Cabbage Hill Farm Foundation. While Cabbage Hill Farm has been covered in much detail and fan fare by many people, the most recent by Martha Stewart (link below), it was my desire to visit it if ever I got the chance. While we discussed our plan for Friday, my Son declared that Saturday would be his day in New York for the very best Pizza and of course shopping. I suggested that we could always visit Cabbage Hill Farms (tongue in cheek...you know...just crazy with Aquaponics). Boy! What a surprise! Everyone said yes :-)

After confirming with Barney, we set out and experienced a very scenic drive. Cabbage Hill Farm Foundation comprises of many acres of land on which it puts to practice it's Mission Statement of the preservation of historic farm animals, preserving the small farm, aquaponics and the practice of sustainable agriculture techniques. Barney welcomed us and commenced the tour of the Aquaponics Greenhouse. During the tour, I share some Aquaponic methods and ideas with him. He asked questions about control of pests and other Aquaponic questions. With a wink of the eye, I introduced him to our Aquaponic Community Forum. He was smitten :-)

So Barney is now a member and has already started to share. He will be a great friend and we will learn from each other :-)

After the visit, upon reflection, I sincerely do believe that the Florida Aquaponic Group has such diverse Aquaponic knowledge and systems that they are a great place to learn and share knowledge on this journey and wonderful "way of life". Come join us on our Florida Aquapon Tour on March 5th and lets all get motivated :-)
