Hi Randy, That's a shame Houston Fert. & Grain doesn't carry bulkhead fittings anymore. I wonder if they would order them for us? Tractor Supply also had them but they wanted twice as much money for them.

Hi Randy,

You posted you needed circulation for your tilapia.  I get some of my supplies from Coastal Pond Supply in Tucker GA. They are on the internet.  They do not know much about aquaponics but they have products we can use. They have many types of fish safe pumps and supplies.  I use a powerhead type pump to make a bucket filter to put over my individual tanks. Some times it is good to have quarantine tanks that do not go into the system and I build bucket filters for them.  They pump 320 to 500 gallons of water. This should be enough to run a barrel system.  If you want more info let me know and I will try to get it to you.  If you want more info contact me and I'll give you more details. I do not leave phone numbers on public forums.

Hi, Randy, uniseals may be easier and possibly cheaper than bulkhead fittings, I don't know. I've always used bulkhead fittings. I get them from Houston Fertilizer & Grain on Hwy 341 between Perry and Fort Valley. The last ones I bought cost around $4.I have 2 half bbl growbeds that I'm using and 2 that I'm not using. they work fine but it's a lot of work building the frames.I'm also using 3 forty gal. stock tanks that I bought from Tractor Supply. I actually like them better. If you want to see them and how they work let me know.

Me again. Love the can o' worms. Did you start with that or did it just seem appropriate once you found out what you'd got into?

Hi, Randy. Just discovered there is another addict in Warner Robins! I have been doing this almost 2 years now.I have 3 systems, 1 small constant flow, 1 flood&drain, and 1 hybrid (flood&drain with raft) system. Looking forward to meeting you.
