I love that it's plumbed as a recirculating system. I bought two 275 gal containers to catch rainwater and was planning to use that, but don't think it would be enough water for 60 stacks, would have to use city water too, which would unfortunately be a different PH and have chlorine. I would probably want to buy a filter if I did it that way...setting it up to be recirculating is starting to seem really appealing. I'm not understanding how the second plumped line would work.
It looks like you have 6 pots on each stack.(besides the one on ground and on top)seems like that's working well. I was thinking of doing 5 in the middle and then growing something like broc, caul, or cabbage in bottom pot and basil in top. I would love to see how you made the recirculating system and would love to hook this up w/ Aquaponics. I was planning to buy these pots and set it up soon and was originally planning on buying a dosematic but now holding off that. It would be so GREAT if I can do it another way. Thanks for your help.

I started with the standard Vertigro 50% Coir and Pearlite. Now I use an 80% coir mixture. I am concerned that they don't dry out between cycles. At this time 5/11/10 I use an all organic nutrient solution. I add 2 cups of Maxicrop to 40 gallons of water. I also foliar feed once a week ( one gallon) with another organic mix. I adjust to PH of 6.5. My well water is 7.6. I am now watering 5 times a day for 2 minutes. It is plumbed as a closed re-circulating system. I have learned that the recirculating Vertigro pots can't handle a constant or even heavy flow. I am adding a second 1" plumbed line to the sump pump.

Was this cabbage grown with it set up to the aquaponics system? If not, what nutrient solution do you use? I will be getting vertigro stacks very soon. I am knew to this and trying to figure out the costs of going with an organic solution. I don't know anyone using organic and it's been difficult to get information on it. The suppliers of fish hydrolysate that I've spoken with aren't familiar with Vertigro system. Thanks for any help you can give me. ~Michelle
