Hey Rick, you're welcome. This pic is now #1 on the leaderboard. Who-da thunk? Must be pretty quiet on the AP front when a still takes first slot. Siphon sales are a bit slow this time of year as well. I have noticed a correlation.

That's great news Rick. We have mini's cropping up all around here as well and they seem to be doing the business. Most have their own tavern and are crowded by all accounts. My kids love going with their friends. A growing new trend. You will do well depending of course on local laws. Most here are cropping up in SW VA due to more lenient laws no doubt. Jack Daniels is still located in a dry town in central TN and can't sell a drop in their own town.

i like to have a beer while working on my ap garden.. but whew, dont get me started on the rum..

thats a bad ass project... love your work Rick.

my guess is you will become the local favorite, start making real money, and keep ap as a personal garden.

best wishes

I have been licensed since last June, and we got our first product on the shelves in April.  We now have three products out and are about to release our fourth, a spiced rum.  I am now finally coming back around to the greenhouse and waste recovery that ties in with all of this.  It has been a long journey.

Wow Rick, I live in "still country" now in NE TN and that is a bute! I do repairs on large commercial laundry equipment and have done so at the local jail in Carter Co. Tn and they have a beauty right in the lobby that of course was confiscated. Wonderful sense of humor and tradition here that we really love. That sealed the deal for me to see that still front and center as you walk in. On a side note I don't even have to turn in my leatherman when entering and working with the inmates. In New England I would have been locked up for the same. I was nearly locked up once up there for not listing one pair of Visegrip. We made the right move.

Have you made any progress on this?

Yep.  Making ethanol as a beverage is far more profitable than making it as a fuel. I am going through the federal and state licensing now.  Once that is done and we are producing, I am hoping to get back to my work in AP, alternative energy, and a few other things.  Pesky detail that money is. It seems to be required to get anything done.

Going into the liquor business?

Comment by Rick Stillwagon on May 6, 2013 at 5:47pm

Nope. It is only incidentally connected to the system....
