It was in a 100 gallon stock tank which is 2 feet deep, however, beware the banana beast as the massive amount of roots a banana plant produces can clog a bed and it also managed to put a small crack in the grow bed.  I was able to patch the crack and I'm still using the grow bed but I'm a bit cautious about recommending banana for Aquaponics anymore.
