I think it was a pup from a plant I got from a catalog that said it was supposed to be a dwarf variety.

What was the source for your banana plants?   Did you buy the plants or grow them from seed?  I am thinking of pineapples.  I started 2 in my back yard growing in dirt,.  I am also trying to grow lemon grass and ginger root.  Looking for items not common to the 'grocery store".
