Good day,
I picked interest in you after going through your short profile and demanding it is necessary for you to write immediately. I have something very important to discuss with you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on (ronaldmorr001@gmail.com) for full details.
Best regards,
Ronald Morris.

Thanks Alex! Yes I'm gonna have lots of questions about cycling before I start. Much much appreciated..

I'm planning on having a custom 100 gallon fish tank built with a rock formation in the center with holes in the bottom. I currently have this in my 40 gallon tank w pumps that circlulate the water around the tank and provide fresh oxygen to the water. The waste mostly collects inside the center of the rock formation so the plan is to have a square shaped tank w a similiar rock in the center and a standpipe thru the center of the tank at half the tanks height (perfect for my turtles). The kicker is I wanna modify this standpipe so that I can easily twist it and have holes that become exposed at the base of where the standpipe connects to the tank to allow the heavier waste sitting on the floor to easily drain into the pipe. I imagine once a week just lift the lid of the rock formation, twist the standpipe and use a brush to guide the waste in for a quick drain, the plants I'm sure wouldn't mind the extra feeding once every week? (long story, sorry)

The fish tank would drain to the grow bed w a bell siphon that drains to the sump tank underneath w a pump inside pumping fresh water back to the fish 24/7.

Let me know what you think of this design and if you think it will work. 50 gallons volume water, 100 gallon grow bed 13" height and a sump tank.

I've become aware of nitrates and nitrites but I don't know what they are or how to manage them. When the system gets set up what would be the best way to go about 'cycling'? I was planning on just washing off the new hydroton and letting the system run for a couple months. Do i add the red worms right away? I imagine the fish waste shouldn't just sit in the grow bed for too long without some worms eating right? and what about the possibilities of powdery mildew if I leave the sump tank directly underneath the grow bed. Thanks!

The Organic Movement Is A Lot Of Rubbish

(I wrote this post about a week ago and finally got around to putting the finishing touches on it today...Enjoy!)

I've been thinking this morning about aquaponics. Which is pretty typical for me, I guess. I just about use all of my excess mental capacity thinking about growing things. Mushrooms, chickens, goats, fish, plants, rabbits, bees...they are on my mind constantly. The thoughts for this morning were aquaponics, compost, and redworms.

I give people tours of my…
