If you are raising them in a backyard system for personal consumption no.
I've never heard of a farming permit. Most permits have more to do with what is being done with the products. If it is all for personal consumption then no. If you are say, selling chicken, meat, eggs, milk, or produce or anything that requires processing in a certified kitchen then yes there are regulations you have to deal with.
If you plan to sell and transport fish, then there is an aquaculture permit.
but is the aquaculture certificate from DACS still needed?
and also, are there any farming permits here in Florida?
Did anyone else fall victim to the destructive storms across Florida these last few days?
At Morning Star Fishermen in Dade City, FL - the 60+ mile per hour winds tore off a portion of the roof in the main greenhouse building. Plus we had fallen trees, 3 wash outs that are over 3-4 ft deep that are quickly looking more like sink holes, not to mention a torn up/washed out road. Whew! We survived though.
How is everyone doing? Are your aquaponic systems still up & running after these storms? How about your buildings, greenhouses and shelters? We pray that everyone is ok.
P.S. If anyone can volunteer or help in any way, we would greatly appreciate it as we are in great need of help. Thank you and God Bless!
